I think the Is300 Sport Cross, and the Jag X-Type Wagon. Sporty, Practical, Luxurious. Yet not many sold.

(On an unrelated note. Kinja did something funky and deleted my original post in the process of posting it, while I was distracted with an Ebay auction.)

Kinja'd!!!

What does Oppo think?

I don't know. The Sport cross doesn't appeal to me in the flesh. Was the X-Type wagon sold in the US? Either way, the X-Type wagon was good.

Yeah, There's one on Ebay. Without those wheels, It's a good looking wagon.

I think there is just a bigger market for a Jaguar Wagon. The same market that include these:

Yeah,The E-Class and the A4 Avant were both in that market. The A4 Avant and that Mercedes seemingly didn't do great though. The Volvo wagons, were a different story. People were picking those up like crazy it seemed.

I WILL own a sport cross one day, there was one for sale locally for the longest time for under $5k, but I don't have the income for a 3rd car. Yet. Ultimate daily I think, needs moar 2JZ with single turbo.

X-Type Wagon? Just get a Mondeo, it's basically the same!

C4 ZR-1. Cancelled after 1995 due to extremely diminished sales; the vast majority of cars sold were sold in MY1990 and MY1991. For '94 and '95, there were only 448 cars sold each year, built using remaining engines as the production of the LT5 had ceased.

Not being nearly twice the price of the regular car for a wide body and an extra 75-100 HP would have helped. At least the C6 ZR1 offers a 200 HP bump, way better brakes, an aluminum chassis, and a better suspension than the base C6 for your doubled-over price.

Ah, That's a good one!

The Zr-1 was a breed of it's own. The only problem was the amount of people that could work on the Lotus engines was minimal. The prices are going down, just last week at C&C there was a Zr-1 for $5,000

If I recall correctly, you've got a C4?

This is 'Murica. We don't get no Mondeo.

We live with the Sable and Taures wagons, the official cars of Obese school teachers, with an upcoming divorce, odd sexual habits and a problem involving cucumbers.

You do now, the current Fusion and the (yet again postponed) new Mondeo are one and the same. Unlike you guys we do get a wagon though, not offering one here would be economic suicide.

Yup Yup, We also had the Ford Contour which also was a Mondeo I believe.

The Countour was heavily based on the first Mondeo, but certainly not close to identical. The current Fusion and the fourth gen Mondeo are, as far as I know, as similar as the current Focus lineups on our continents.

You might be aware of this but if not: the direct predecessor of the first gen Mondeo, the RWD Ford Sierra, was available in the US as well, but only a very limited section of its lineup: the Merkur XR4Ti. The second gen Mondeo you guys got, heavily altered, as the Jaguar X-type. I don't think there was any third gen Mondeo available in the US though, although there were/are cars on the same platform like the current Volvo S80 and Land Rover LR2.

Wait, hold the phone. There was a C4 ZR-1 for $5000? Which C&C? Katie's in Great Falls, VA? What colour and year? Details, man, details! Because I'm interested in acquiring one and I'd sell my '96 for one pronto if it's 1990 and red and affordable. Currently the closest to me is a red 1990 for $11,000 in North Carolina, and I'm waiting for the semester to be out and the internships to start.

As for the Lotus engine; most ZR-1 owners seem to do their own work on the engine, so it's really a question of parts. Parts are plentiful, just pricey. The ZR-1 is even the only ZF6-equipped C4 you can still regularly find new dual-mass flywheels for because it had its own version of it. Me? When mine goes I'm gonna have to convert to a single-mass, and that means chatter.

Ok Sorry, my numbers were wrong.

My Katie's buddy told me $5, it's actually for $9. As I haven't been able to make it for about a week. Still affordable, Sorry about the confusion. Good shape, but mudflaps.

It was Red, Not sure of the year. Chrome wheels 5 spokes, Nice.

Fuuuuck, I need more info! $9,000 is still very desirable and I could actually get that for my car and I would, in fact, list mine for sale pronto for it. I don't want a showroom car, I want a driver. I mean to drive it. Mudflaps are fine.

As for year, if it has the black belt-line running around it, it is a 1990. That one feature makes the car.

If you can get any other information, I would be immensely grateful!

Ah man. I wish I could get more information. I haven't been able to make it this week, you might want to try Jagvar, or some of the regulars. I'd take a look next week, but sadly my work schedule is changed and I won't be able to make it very often anymore.

I'll throw a post out though, see if anybody has details. Sorry that I couldn't tell you more though. According to my C&C buddy it was there last week. Where I didn't attend. I've seen it at least once before though.

I appreciate that! I'll try and get out there next weekend, but it's crunch time at school and I may have an exam next Saturday morning.

Crossing my fingers for a 1990. After losing out on that $8000 example in Arizona, this lead brings me great joy.
